Does anyone do yoga or pilates? How do you like it? I am trying to incorporate more of this into my routine but it's tough.

I do both pilates as well as yoga twice a week.
My instructor tells me that pilates are the best
workout for the 6 muscles in your abs,so if you
want great abs this summer, stick to that.
It's also really good if you want better agility.

Yoga would be for everything. It really targets
everything in your body- legs, arms, back. And in the beginning,
it's a little difficult to do some of the moves.
But it becomes alot of fun and really lets you forget about stress.
Not to mention, it's supposed to make your sex life a lot more interesting
because of some of the positions you learn
how to do, so that can't hurt. lol :bigkiss:
Don't mistake my kindness as a weakness.

I want to try Pilates, my sister recently ordered some videos on it, and she says she loves it, does it 3 or 4 times a week....

I think I'm gonna have to borrow them and try it out~

I just got it on Monday, it's great! I recently injured my knee so this is a good workout and no impact. I highly recommend it.

Pilates is great. Also look into some tai chi. Its very relaxing and teaches self defense. I take the martial art version but when practicing the moves slowly it is a very relaxing cool down and energy replenisher. All martial arts are amazing workouts and give the added benefit of self defense...

Really? That's hot. I recomend Aikido for women for self defense. It requires almost no strength. A tiny girl can easily throw around a large man. Only thing is you hafta learn to fall 1st which kinda sux because you get thrown around a lot in the beginning.

Stay away from karate and taekwondo because they're just sports, cost a lot and don't really teach shit. But for working out. Kickboxing (Muay Thai) with Tai Chi is great for the body. I study 11 different arts and they keep me in great shape. Good luck...

When I was in HS and college I took some classes... It relaxes the body and the brain... I did it in conjunction with my regular sprts(running, swimming, and weights)

Can any of you recommend some good tapes to try for pilates or yoga? I'm looking to drop a bit of winter "insulation" :P, and I've gotten really bored of using weights.

Also, would you recommend pilates for ab work and yoga for all over body toning?

I ordered the Windsor Pilates tapes and they are great. I've been doing them 2 weeks now and I notice it seems to tighten the stomach AND legs which is a plus. I think the website is www.windsorpilates.com.
