Right now I'm doing cardio 5 days a week, and for those 5 days I'll work my abs one day, and then the next I'll lift....
Is working out a certain muscle once a week okay?
Any opinions or feedback would be very helpful

As far as abs go, you can pretty much do them everyday. That muscle group can recover within 24 hours. Most other muscles like legs require at least 48 hours to recover.
Bottom line is: for a workout to tone your body( which is what most girls are looking for) doing the same muscle twice a week is fine, as long as you give it at least 2 days rest.
Also to keep abs from getting borring I try to break it up into upper and lower. One day ill do exercises like situps, crunches etc... the next day ill do excercises like leg lifts.
