Fucking awesome. Went in June. Flew nonstop from JFK-Honolulu, stayed in Waikiki for a night, went to Pearl Harbor that next morning, then Kauai for five days, Maui for five days, then back to Honolulu for our flight home.
Unreal trip, you pretty much have to hike to any type of sight so it's a pretty active vacation, not much lounging, especially in Kauai. We stayed poolside a couple of days in Maui, but you have to get out of there around noon because you just get blasted with tradewinds.
Went to Waimea Canyon, Queen's bath, Napali Coast, Smith Family Luau and the black sand beach in Kauai.
Road to Hana, Haleakala Summit for sunrise, scuba diving and relaxing in Maui. Tons of great restaurants, the food out there is amazing if you like fish and asian-influenced food. Would recommend the trip to anyone thinking of going, but it's def a couples place. 10.5 hour flight non-stop. Def the way to go. Initially I wanted to stop somewhere on the west coast (SD, LA, SF or Vegas) on the way home, but didn't happen. Watch a few movies, take a couple of naps and your home. It was good stuff.
